Dr Agolley is an Australian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon, with a special interest in sports hip and knee surgery, hip and knee preservation surgery, and hip and knee replacement surgery.
He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and fellow of the British Orthopaedic Association.
Based on the Gold Coast, Dr Agolley consults from John Flynn Private Hospital and Gold Coast Private Hospital. He operates at the John Flynn, Gold Coast Private Hospital and The Tweed Valley Hospital.

Dr Agolley was born to Ghanean and Chinese parents in London UK, and migrated to Melbourne in the 1980’s. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree with first class research honours from Monash University, and completed his medical degree at The University of Newcastle in 2002. Dr Agolley then completed his Orthopaedic Specialist training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association Advanced Training Scheme in Sydney. His training has allowed him to learn advanced elective and trauma surgical techniques from leading orthopaedic surgeons in Sydney, Melbourne and regional NSW/VIC.
Dr Agolley completed two fellowships in London UK. His fellowships were at the prestigious University College Hospital, Princess Grace Hospital, and the Institute of Sport and Exercise Health, all internationally renowned centres for excellence in the field of orthopaedic surgery. He treated amateur and professional athletes as well as the general public.
Dr Agolley’s fellowship focused on established and emerging techniques in the management of hip and knee sports injuries in amateur and elite athletes, young adult hip dysplasia, hip impingement, hip arthroscopy, periacetabular osteotomy and complex hip replacement including direct anterior hip replacement, with Mr Johan Witt (Consultant hip surgeon). Further fellowship training allowed continuation of advanced surgical techniques in complex hip and knee primary and revision joint replacement, total and partial knee replacement, hip and knee sports surgery in amateur and elite athletes (including dance, football, athletics, rugby, boxing and martial arts), hip and knee arthroscopy, Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), labral tears, ACL reconstruction, knee ligament reconstruction, knee cartilage treatment and knee osteotomy with Professor Fares Haddad (Director of Surgery UCLH, Director of the Institute of Sport and Exercise Health, Chief editor of the Bone and Joint Journal). Dr Agolley has been acknowledged for his efforts in teaching medical students from Griffith and Bond universities in Queensland, and University College London Hospitals in London UK. He also teaches training orthopaedic surgeons in Australia and UK, physiotherapists and nurses. Dr Agolley is known for his excellent rapport with patients, and care for patient safety and outcomes. He performs thorough assessments of patient’s symptoms, and will guide you through non-surgical, surgical, and rehabilitation treatment. Dr Agolley has played competitively in Basketball, AFL, Field Hockey, Inline Hockey and Ice Hockey. He now enjoys time with his family at the beach, kite boarding, gym, squash and golf.
